Right! Er. Friday, yes. Where did that come from? What happened last week, where did it go? I guess I’d better do a quick recap to jog my memory!
I think most of the reason I don’t remember the last week is that it all merged into one big bug-fixing session for SockMonkey. The new project I’ve moved onto (sadly still unannounced, so I can’t name it) has had a steady stream of issues to work through, and though it is showing signs of slowing, it is by no means done!
It’s been very enjoyable though, just plodding through issues, seeing what needs changing or fixing. There’s a simple joy in seeing something you have actively changed affect a game for the better!
Sadly this does leave me with very little to talk about on the dev front, but that’s not to say it’s not an exciting time – our new starter John begins on Monday! John is hailing from Tt Games, like myself, and has 20 years of games dev experience, unlike myself. I’m very happy to have him joining the team; partly because he’s an excellent coder, and fantastic worker, but also because it’ll be great to work with a good friend again! Dell have even deigned to deliver his laptop in time for his start date, which is a rare and welcome blessing! Good job Dell! I do still have to get it to him, but I’m sure I can make that happen easily enough.
I’m wrapping up early again, as I’m still helping SockMonkey by giving them my Fridays. I’m also sad to report that I’ve had to stall the livestream planning, as I really haven’t had the time or energy to sort out an agenda. However, it is always my policy to finish on a high note, and so I present to you the product of the last livestream, fully realised as an embroidered piece by Suzie as a birthday gift:
They’re very cute, and have earned a place on my ever-expanding bookshelf of memories, as featured in any images or videos of my office. Hopefully you can see them in situ soon!
‘Til then,
Matt out.
I don’t think the title of your article matches the content lol. Just kidding, mainly because I had some doubts after reading the article.
Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?
Your article helped me a lot, is there any more related content? Thanks!
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
